Air Compression Recovery Therapy

One of the recovery technologies we offer our members at Hive Active is the use of Air Compression Recovery Gear.

This technology uses dynamic pneumatic compression pumped in a wave-like pattern to enhance the body’s natural healing ability. Think of it as a high-tech, deep pressure, recovery massage that enhances blood flow and speeds recovery for your legs (recovery boots), and your glutes, obliques, lower back and upper legs (recovery shorts).

The recovery gear can be used before and after training sessions, or for those looking for a great bio hack to counteract physically demanding lifestyles or for those who have been on their feet all day.

Air compression Technology is designed to:

  • Enhance healthy circulation

  • Decrease muscle soreness and fatigue

  • Increase flexibility

  • Speed up recovery

  • Promote relaxation

While air compression recovery technology is a great bio-hack and recovery experience, pneumatic pressure massage is not for everyone.

It is a non-medical technology and should not be used to treat medical conditions or injury, on children or on any of the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy (Doctor's clearance required)

  • For a person with suspected, active or untreated: Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), ischemic vascular disease, severe arteriosclerosis, pulmonary edema, episode or pulmonary embolism, severe congestive heart/cardiac failure, thrombophlebitis or an active infection.

  • Where there are localised wounds, lesions, infection, tumours, vein ligation, gangrene, dermatitis, recent skin grafts, massive edema or extreme deformity at or near the site of device application [i.e feet + legs (recovery boots) or lower back, glutes and legs (recovery shorts).

  • Where increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable.

  • Bone fractures or dislocations at or near the site of application.

  • Not for use on any neuropathy.

  • Do not use on areas that are insensitive to pain.

If you are seeking to use air compression technology for medical applications, consult your doctor on treatment protocols and what best suits your medical needs before using this technology.
